Industries, Energy Companies, Farming

Industries create, manufacture, and distribute products and provide services. There is probably no known industry that doesn’t need a variety of ways to describe, illustrate, and promote its services and/or products. Brochures, information packets, and booklets are some of the tools that can help any industry introduce and promote itself.

Industry brochures with purpose

Brochures and booklets can serve a number of functions in any industry. They can be used as/for/to:

  • Introduce products and services
  • Provide key information about processes related to manufacturing, distribution, planting/harvesting, etc.
  • Price lists
  • Educational materials
  • Illustrate product manufacture, assembly, or distribution
  • Provide manufacturer’s warranties and product/consumer information
  • Promote industries, services, products, concepts, special programs

Industrial design

Brochure designers help create brochures and related collateral that reflect the accuracy, knowledge, power, and performance of industry. Brochures can help emphasize the scale of an operation whether it is a major energy generating facility, a large farming agribusiness, or a chemicals manufacturing plant.

Brochure colors for traditional industries may include metallic grays, blacks, whites, and blues; greens may be more effectively utilized in industries that relate to ecology and agriculture.

Straight lines and boxes can help emphasize the flow of a manufacturing process and the functionality of products. Charts, diagrams, and tables - in brochure, insert, or booklet format - can be used to illustrate specific machinery parts or equipment operation or a manufacturing process.

Pictures and images may focus more on equipment, facilities, and processes rather than on people. Clarity of data and facts displayed in industrial brochures is critical. Brochure designers can develop collateral that presents critical information in direct, easy-to-access formats.

Tri-fold brochures may be well- suited for use in smaller company marketing campaigns whereas larger companies may find big tri-fold brochure formats, booklets and inserts more effective.

When one brochure can’t say it all

Brochures can help introduce a company to prospective clients. But probably very few industries can tell about their company and their products or services with just one brochure. And it is just as likely that a client’s decision making process involves more than one person or group. Brochure collateral may be designed to target very specific audiences.

Consider a company that manufactures industrial lubricants. One brochure can serve as an introduction to the company. A booklet may list products and prices. Individual data sheets may be utilized to describe specific lubricants, their purpose(s) and properties; other data sheets describe applications of lubricants to be used on specific surfaces such as plastics, metal surfaces, or elastomers.

The agribusiness is large and vastly diversified. A major agribusiness will most likely use brochures in nearly every division and sub-division of its company. Brochure and booklet collateral may describe seeding products or effective land management. Another division may produce the planting, seeding, and harvesting equipment that are used in large farming enterprises. A third division may be the development and marketing of agrichemicals. All of these divisions can use collateral to introduce products and educate clients on their properties and uses.

Brochures designed to educate and connect

A company can use brochure collateral in educational and community settings.

Brochures may introduce an industry or company to students who are studying business or agriculture. A company may sponsor internships or special student grants. Brochures can help bring these opportunities to students’ attention.

Many companies have created outreach programs to help members of a community to become aware of ways a company or industry is utilizing more earth-friendly manufacturing processes. They may have formed partnerships within a community in support of schools, fine arts, or environmental programs. Brochures can promote awareness of these special programs.

Brochures can help connect industries with clients and communities, students, and future industry builders.
